Spring’s key catwalk tips to be trendy

February 2, 2009

Buying expensive designer clothes from the collection may be a bit off the budget because like branded clothing such as Ralph Lauren, Versace ,Dolce and Gabbana and many more,it is not your average clothes. But the question is how to be trendy clothes or how to make one, so here are some tips to be in fashion in a tight budget.

Trendy tips:

1 A tailored blazer: if you don’t already own one, buy one. You can wear it with everything, from old peasant tops to this season’s one-shouldered dresses and it will make them look of the moment. In a classic, classy way.

2 Silk pajama pants, This could be the look of the season, teamed with sweaters now, and later on with silk T-shirts and jeweled sandals, for a slouchy utility chic whose time has come.

3 Something colourful. You may be clinging to greys and black now, but once it gets warmer, you’ll feel different.

4 A flamboyant top – ruffled, embroidered or lacy (Isabel Marant). The more decorative the better. Woman cannot live by utilitarianism alone, and a top is more versatile than a dress.

5 Quirky accessories: the It-anything has the same cachet right now as scrofula. Individuality (or at least something that 7,000 other people on the waiting list aren’t wearing) is where it’s at. Seek out beautiful drop earrings by lesser known designers ( or on antique stalls; think about wearing a corsage again (VV Rouleaux’s a good start); invest in a really beautiful belt (anything that goes round your waist twice will be useful and fresh looking). Above all, play fast and loose with everything I’ve just recommended. That’s true individuality.

Five Fashion Tips in 2009

January 30, 2009

There are many fashion style that 2008 have brought us but in this 2009 avoid using the common style in like default to the uniform: black shirt, bluejeans, black shoes. And some designer clothes are victim of it by overdoing it with branded clothes like Ralph Lauren, Versace ,Dolce and Gabbana and many more.

But even a uniform can be unique. Here are five ways to make it so:

1. Remember the three Bs. “For me, it is all about the three B’s — boots, belt and bag,” said Janice Moskoff, owner of Beta Boutique in Chicago’s Bucktown. She often sports a pair of distressed red vintage leather Farylrobin boots (or, in a blizzard, a pair of double-strap waterproof Pajar snow boots), paired with a studded leather belt from the men’s department at Nordstrom, complemented by her favorite oversize distressed leather Buddha Love handbag. The sum of the parts provides a signature look that sets her apart.

2. Go for fun wellies. Stylish wellies can do triple duty as (a) practical on slush-mucked streets, (b) trendy a la Angelina Jolie and Kate Moss and (c) transitional for winter to spring. Red (like the ones Jolie wore in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”) and yellow are two of the most popular colors of classic Hunter boots.

3. Add a sweater or menswear-style vest. “Vests happen to be one of my personal favorites,” said Krista Meyers, owner of Krista K in Chicago. “Throw a vest on over the basic black top and you have a totally different look.” Right now vests are available in many textures, from above the waist to below the butt. “With a black top and jeans, I love the idea of a charcoal gray vest,” Meyers said.

4. Wrap you neck in baubles or scarves. Bold jewelry is especially of the moment, and stores such as Marc by Marc Jacobs and H&M provide more bauble for your buck. If big isn’t your thing, think layering. Empty your jewelry box and see what you get by piling one delicate necklace on top of another, or several bracelets stacked, Meyers suggests.

5. Go casual in brown. Take a cue from men and dare to pair your black top with brown shoes and a brown belt for a fresher look, adds Meyers. Classic Frye Campus boots in dark brown are a safe option for a casual look.

SAG Awards Fashion Beauty

January 29, 2009

The 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2008, were presented on January 25, 2009. The ceremony was held at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, California for the thirteenth consecutive year. It was broadcast live simultaneously by TNT and TBS.The nominees were announced on December 18, 2008 by Angela Bassett and Eric McCormack at Los Angeles’ Pacific Design Center’s Silver Screen Theater.

Here are the fashion beauties wearing their designer clothes on the awards day:

The awards season continued in Hollywood with the Screen Actors Guild Awards, but maybe Teri Hatcher is getting tired
from all the ceremonies she’s been attending.

Coupled with her mussy bed-head hair, she looked like she’d decided to wear her sheets to the awards show.
Other celebrities made a bit more of an effort and the general trend was for bright colours and one-shoulder, body-hugging gowns.

Rosario Dawson wore a Dolce & Gabanna pewter frock with clever ruching that accentuated her curves.

Kate Winslet also opted for figure-hugging bright blue Narciso Rodriguez dress that clung in all the right places.

Christina Applegate wore an emerald green, bias-cut Emanuel Ungaro gown. She said she plumped for a colour she wouldn’t normally wear.

Anne Hathaway has a canny knack of going against the mainstream. While everyone else opted for bright shades she wore a beautiful white Grecian-inspired gown designed by Azzaro.

Olivia Wilde looks modern and marvelous in her deep v-neck white Ralph Lauren Art Deco dress. A graphic silver detailing at the waist adds some punch to her simple frock. For accessories, the actress adorned herself with a gold bangle, dangly earrings, blinging ring, and matching clutch

Footwear, boot and shoe trends 2008/2009

January 28, 2009

At this year shoes are the womens fashion statement that will watch thier desginer clothes, so what are the shoes that are back in styles.

A stiletto heel is a long, thin heel found on some boots and shoes, usually for women. It is named after the stiletto
dagger, the phrase being first recorded in the early 1930s. Stiletto heels may vary in length from 2.5 centimeters
(1 inch) to 20 cm (8 inches)or more if a platform sole is used, and are sometimes defined as having a diameter at the ground of less than 1 cm (slightly less than half an inch). Stiletto-style heels shorter than 5 cm are called kitten heels. Not all high slim heels merit the description stiletto.

Thick, chunky heels

No doubt the modern heels on these shoes are hot, but what’s especially great about them is that they’re so well
suited to rest of these super-sexy shoes. I’d love to see them paired with a close-fitting mid-length or shorter dress
or skirt.

Squared-off toes

A a while since square toed shoes have been popular… and it’s now its time for their return; take note on the new squared-off shape. It’s a tapered in toe with a short blunt nose – rather than a fully squared toe.The squared-toes have been seen on the runways of Calvin Klein, Marni, Christian Dior, Prada. They are a nice, modern alternative to the lady-like round-toe; edgy, but not as harsh as a sharp point.

Tapered heels

Heels thatstart thick at the top and taper down, often with a curve, into a stiletto-esque point at the bottom. They’re a sexy, interesting and modern style which can really spice up an outfit. Not as much a classic shape, so buy them if you intend to get a lot of wear out of them over the next few seasons.

Pointed Toe

Pointed toe stiletto from Liliana by Adi is a fun and fashionable way to complete your favorite outfits. Women’s high-heel shoes feature patent upper with snake print toe and heel. Chic pumps boast padded footbed and non-skid sole.

Becoming a model,Frances Bean Cobain, 15, the daughter of Courtney Love and late grunge legend Kurt Cobain, is headlining as the star of Evita, Grease and Beauty and the Beast – all for a fashion spread in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

Fashion Victim

January 26, 2009

According to wikipedia “Fashion victim is a term – claimed to have been coined by Oscar de la Renta – that is used to

identify a person who is unable to identify commonly recognized boundaries of style.Fashion victims are victims because they are vulnerable to faddishness and materialism, two of the widely recognized excesses of fashion, and consequently are at the mercy of society’s prejudices or of the commercial interest of the fashion industry, or of both. According to Versace, “When a woman alters her look too much from season to season, she becomes a fashion victim.”

It is a matter how to set the style by overdoing it and a fashion victim is someone who:

a. only purchases brand-name apparel.
b. is a compulsive shopper.
c. will only consider wearing an item that is “the latest trend,” regardless of whether they can pull it off or not. pressure.

One of the major problem of many women, they buy expensive desginer clothing just to be in fashion, but in the end

they become panic buyers and when they wear it looks perfectly ridiculous.

To avoid to be a fashion victim here are some tips:

1.Be yourself

Know what you want that will bring out the best in you and you must be comfortable on what are you wearing, this will put you to different and exciting.

2.Don’t over do it

Having less is much better, there is a saying “simplicity is beautiful”.

3.Maintain balance

Keep a good balance of basic and trendy clothing in your wardrobe. In other words, half your wardrobe should not consist of trendy clothes, or worse, clothes that are out of style.

4.Avoid Branded clothes

There are many cheap designer clothes that will suits your needs, be wise in spending too much on branded items that will not fit your lifestyle.

5.Don’t be a slave to the media

Don’t base your look solely on what you see in magazines and on TV. Celebrities and models often overdo trends for attention, and their flashy attire will likely not translate well for you, in the real world.

Kanye West’s Vuitton Kicks

January 23, 2009

Kanye West is a ten-time Grammy Award-winning American rapper, record producer and singer. He released his debut album The College Dropout in 2004, his second album Late Registration in 2005, his third album Graduation in 2007, and his fourth album 808s & Heartbreak in 2008. Well as West tops the chart in music industry he also enters the world of fashion, where he wear a large collection of designer clothes and shoes.

Here is the Article:

PARIS — Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton men’s studio director Paul Helbers have some design competition this season. Kanye West, who was sitting front row at the Vuitton show, has designed a line of five LV sneakers. Only one design, above, was featured in the show — a monochromatic midtop with no frills, save for a quilted flap in the back, all the easier to tuck pants into. “The inspiration came from a jacket with a huge collar in the movie ‘Dune,’ ” West says. “Most sneakers focus on the tongue, so I wanted to do something different.” West knows whereof he speaks: he says he has no idea how many shoes he owns, but he does know that he routinely needs to send shipments off to storage. TheLV-meets-Kanye kicks will be available at Louis Vuitton stores in June.

Michelle Obama a fashion icon

January 21, 2009

As Michelle Obama her husband run for presidency up to becoming the first African-American president, the fashion focus on the dress of the first lady. In the inaugural ceremony she wore a designer clothing by 26-year-old Jason Wu, a white chiffon, one-shoulder gown covered in fluffy appliques and beading that will now become part of fashion history. I think that the first family is a fashion icon because of Michelle Obama even their daughters caught the attention of the fashion world.

Most Expensive Bag in the World

January 20, 2009

Bags are one of the important accessories in a person where all your belongings are stored and that will fit on your designer clothes, there are many bags in the world but are the most expensive, here the top ten list:

1. Fendi “B.Bag”

Hailing the return of the structured bag, this might be Fendi’s best seller since the Baguette. Although the white lambskin runway bag (pictured on the runway) was well-received, the $27,700 black crocodile version is truly coveted.

2. Hermès “Birkin”

Nearly all Hermès Birkin bags, named after English actress and ’60s fashion icon Jane Birkin, are special orders, like this red leather version. Most Birkins are upwards of $20,000, but the final price depends on skin and hardware.

3. Yves Saint Laurent “Muse”

Seen on the arm of everyone from Kate Moss to Jessica Simpson, the roomy yet refined Muse riffs on the traditional bowling bag. Linda Evangelista’s sage green version, pictured above at Paris Fashion Week last February, is now available in white crocodile for $18,990.

This structured crocodile bag, embossed with the signature Prada emblem, made its first appearance on the Autumn/Winter 2006 runway in Milan. It is available in the tan color shown above, known as Krusca.

Due to high demand, luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman allows customers to order no more than three every 30 days.
